As an artist, I have a favoritism for figure drawing: drawing people but especially women. At the start of my investigation, I realized that I really wanted to explore my love of cars, so I connected that to people. I explored the differences and similarities between the two and what brings them together as I created my pieces.
Although I usually gravitate toward a traditional pencil and paper or oil paints, I wanted to branch out and try mediums I’ve never used before like charcoal, watercolor, and ink wash. All these mediums allowed me to relax, to trust the process, and to understand you cannot always be precise.
