When I started this project, it was mostly out of reverence for foxes as a representation of family, but quickly I became passionate just about experiencing their lives and so it became about my interactions with them and my love for their expression of family and fate. I wanted to do something different and challenging. By being a wildlife photographer I got to be part of something I couldn’t truly perfect, but could only document. For me, foxes represent things being okay, like a sign from the universe. Now, they’ve become a signal of perseverance and patience with myself. Foxes mean love and hope.

I failed an unbelievable amount of times at taking pictures. Some days were just all bad images, but documenting them and continuing to go out every night was a test of patience and sanity. Every adventure was understanding how to photograph a specific time of aback, or movement. Minor adjustments were catalogued in my portfolio scrapbook for future reference. I struggle with perfectionism, and wildlife is a challenge to ignore that instinct and just be grateful that luck sided with you. I wanted to show the foxes as how I now see them, after knowing them for months. Getting chased and all.
